Travel the world in just one day and see all those iconic landmarks you’ve always wanted to see. Gigantic Chinese Lanterns depicting the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, Chichen Itza…just to name a few.
A world of entertainment that is. From dancers to musicians reflecting the diversity of the Bay Area, to circus and street performers, there will be something for everyone at Global Winter Wonderland.
From November 25 – January 2, gigantic illuminated lanterns will light up the sky off Great America Parkway in Santa Clara. Representing some of the world’s greatest architectural achievements including the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, Chichen Itza and the Golden Gate Bridge, Global Winter Wonderland lets you travel the world in just one day.
In addition to iconic landmarks, the festival will showcase other amazing lanterns in the Holiday Village and Chinatown exhibit. More than 40 in all, these eco-friendly lanterns, made from beverage cans, bottle caps, CDs, porcelain dishes and metal flatware, were designed by the same team of engineers who built lanterns for the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing.
